ST. PAUL, Minn. (GRAY) – For the first time since June, legislative leaders met in the Governor’s Cabinet room on Tuesday to discuss an upcoming special session.
Newly-appointed House DFL Leader Zack Stephenson (DFL-Coon Rapids) joined Speaker Lisa Demuth (R-Cold Spring), Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy (DFL-St. Paul), and Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) to go over the details of the session.
The session hasn’t been declared yet; in fact, Tuesday’s meeting was the first that legislative leaders had had on the topic.
Leaders say the meeting went well.
“We had an opportunity, the four leaders and the governor, to meet, talking about the special session,” said Demuth. “It was a very productive and good conversation.”
Walz started talking about calling a special session on guns in the wake
