CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Every year, the media crowns a Song of the Summer — that one track that evokes everything about our favorite season: road trips, pool parties, late-night regrets, etc.

By now, you’d think we’d all be on the same page. Instead, 2025 was the year everyone seemingly decided there wasn’t one. The music was forgettable, the vibes off and the world felt too heavy to care, they said. Some tried to be clever by naming the background track from that Jet2holiday TikTok sound as the Song of the Summer.

Seriously?

If we’ve learned anything in the 10 years since we started doing this, it’s that the Song of the Summer is inevitable. You don’t choose it so much as it reveals itself — just as Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar” in 2020 and Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” last year.
