TOLEDO, Ohio — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Tuesday it has started removing hazardous materials from the former Omni Polymers facility on Nebraska Avenue in central Toledo.

The cleanup, which began this week, is expected to be complete by spring 2026, the EPA said.

The site at 1925 Nebraska Ave. was operated from 2022 to 2024 by Omni Polymers International Corp. as a bulk plastic waste grinding and container reconditioning facility. The city of Toledo requested federal assistance in May 2024 after raising concerns about unsecured hazardous materials left on the property.
