SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Hot and humid weather is out as the weather pattern switches to cooler, cloudier and windier weather this week.

An area of low pressure off the coast of the California-Oregon border will increase onshore flow and redevelop the marine layer for the next couple of days.

Low clouds are expected to clear the valleys by mid-morning with slower clearing for the coastline on Wednesday.

Daytime highs will top out in the low 70s for beaches with upper 70s for the valleys and mountains and mid 90s for the deserts with a lot less humidity in play.

Some patchy drizzle to light rain could wet the ground late overnight into early Wednesday morning from a deepening marine layer. If there is measurable rainfall, it will likely be just a few hundredths an inch of rain.
