A standoff in Folsom ended in tragedy after a house fire left one man dead and destroyed a home on River Ridge Way. Police say the man had recently been served with a restraining order and eviction notice by his girlfriend, the homeowner. Family members say he called them Monday, saying he was barricaded inside with five gallons of gasoline and planned to set the house on fire. Crisis counselors and officers attempted to negotiate before flames broke out. Fire crews later confirmed the home was a total loss. Police and fire investigators continue to search for the cause.
