Mercedes AMG Formula One team principal Toto Wolff has opened up about the "precedent" the McLaren team orders have set at Monza, and revealed his stance with an example from his team.
The Italian Grand Prix was met with a controversial ending as Lando Norris finished second, and Oscar Piastri secured third. This happened after McLaren handed team orders to Piastri to hand P2 to his teammate.
The saga began when both McLarens were due for a pit stop. Norris, who started the race in second, told his team on the radio that he was okay with having Piastri pit first, but on the condition that the stop must not compromise his second place in the race.
