JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - When the Missouri House approved a bill to redraw the state’s congressional districts, about one dozen Republicans voted against their party.

Tuesday, the Missouri House of Representatives approved two bills in a special session called by Gov. Mike Kehoe . The bills now head to the Missouri Senate. If all goes according to the majority party’s plan, the new map could be on the governor’s desk by the end of the week.

An initiative petition is the process that allows Missourians to amend their state’s constitution. Right now, questions put on the ballot by citizens only need a simple majority to pass.
