SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane City Council is considering moving its Monday legislative sessions to a different day.
This potential change is due to frequent cancellations from federal holidays, requests from stakeholders for more engagement time and community feedback, the city said in a release.
The council initially discussed the change last year but postponed further talks to 2025 to gather community input.
A public survey has been launched to collect residents’ opinions on this matter. The survey is open to Spokane residents and will close at midnight on Sunday, September 21.
The results will be presented during the Finance and Administration Committee meeting on September 22, 2025.
A first reading of the resolution is planned for October 6, 2025, followed by a final reading and
