A suburban man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly holding a woman against her will, authorities said.

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, police saw 42-year-old Frank R. Saporito of Romeoville "acting erratically" with a woman who "appeared uncomfortable" while in the parking lot of a Jewel-Osco, Wauconda police said.

Officers continued to watch the couple as they entered a vehicle and left the area, police said. After Saporito committed multiple traffic violations, including driving without headlights and not having a front license plate displayed, police initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, Saporito was "confrontational and uncooperative" and the female he was with "appeared fearful, had visible injuries, and alleged she was being held against her will," police said.
