MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The future of a new Regional One Health hospital is once again up for debate, as the Memphis City Council prepares to consider whether the medical center should move into unused space at other hospitals instead of building a brand new facility.
The council will take up the resolution Tuesday morning. It calls on Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris to organize a meeting with hospital leaders, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and local philanthropies to discuss alternatives before more money is committed.
