EASTMAN, Ga. — A quiet Sunday evening on First Avenue turned deadly when a confrontation between neighbors ended with one man shot and killed after allegedly threatening to kill an entire family.

Terrence Travis Gordon died Sunday from gunshot wounds after what witnesses describe as an escalating series of threats that began hours earlier and culminated in gunfire on a residential porch.

Tawanda McRae said she and her husband were sitting outside their home when Gordon approached, allegedly making death threats after spending time hiding behind their house.

"He said he loved us but he was going to kill everyone in the house," McRae said.
