TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (DC News Now) -- It’s been more than a week since a student was hit by a car while crossing near Imagine Lincoln Public Charter School in Temple Hills. Shortly after the incident, a crossing guard was assigned to the intersection.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns from parents and community leaders about the lack of crossing guards at schools across Prince George’s County.
The incident happened on Norcross Street and St. Clair Drive on Aug. 29. Ring camera video shows the aftermath, where a crowd of people surrounded the student in the middle of the road.
Shortly after, the police and the fire department arrived on the scene, and the student was taken to the hospital. They were released that same day.
