Emergency crews responded to a major crash involving a Quinlan Volunteer Fire Department truck that injured two firefighters Tuesday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Around 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Texas DPS said emergency crews were dispatched to the 7100 block of Farm-to-Market Road 36 South in Quinlan, about an hour east of Dallas.

Officials said the driver of a Quinlan fire truck lost control on a curve, then rolled the truck over several times on the way to a call. The truck came to a stop when hit struck a tree in a front yard.

It was heading northbound on FM 36.

Two firefighters were involved in the crash.

“I got a phone call from one of the people that was in the truck,” said Quinlan VFD Chief Brian Collinsworth.
