The second phase of homes for a medieval Leicestershire village has been announced. Up to 27 homes look set to be built on the paddock site if approved by officials.

Allison Homes hopes to build the properties on Meadow Lane, Stanton under Bardon, near Coalville . The development would be next to another Allison Homes scheme where 50 homes are being built as part of phase one of the development.

The homes will range from two- to four-bed, and the developer has promised affordable housing , but has not yet revealed the exact amount. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s guidelines for large housing developments require 40 per cent of the homes to be classed as affordable, which would equate to 10 properties.
