BEDFORD – In the midst of a brutal section of the schedule, Bedford North Lawrence needed to summon extra energy to deal with another high-level opponent. The well, for both the physical and mental ability to battle a formidable opponent, was a little dry.

Unable to recharge the drained batteries, the Stars could not rise to the next level as New Albany posted a three-set sweep on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (6-2 overall, 1-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) recorded a 25-16, 25-17, 25-16 triumph, with Ellie Scharlow and Addi Vaughn doing a lot of the damage. Scharlow totaled 13 kills, while Vaughn added 27 assists and 11 digs to give New Albany control of the net and the back row.
