SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield's East Forest Park neighborhood celebrated National Night Out, fostering connections between law enforcement and the community.
The event, hosted by the East Forest Park Civic Association, took place at Nathan Bill Park, where residents engaged with police officers, EMTs, and firefighters.
Attendees enjoyed food, music, and entertainment while learning about the daily work and equipment used by first responders.
"We're here to show the public, so the kids just to show everyone that we're their friends, they can come to us if they need help," said Lt. Damian Cherry from the Hampden County Sheriff's Office. "Anyone in the public can come to us if they need help. And we're their friends, we're here to support the public."
