BEMIDJI – Each meet, the Bemidji High School girls swimming and diving team puts four of its top swimmers in the pool for the first event.
The 200-yard medley relay kicks off each competition, with one swimmer taking each of the four different strokes. For the second time in four days, the Lumberjacks foursome secured an early relay win.
Finley Zothman, Abby Daman, Ellie Wille and Anna Friedt clocked a first-place time at 1:59.08 to kick off the meet.
“Getting in the water and being the one to set that pace for a race, for a meet, being bold enough to do that, they’re really learning how to do that,” co-head coach Lisa Friedt said. “They’re working so hard on their underwaters, their tempo underwater, and it goes back to being fearless and learning how to just race.”
