BEMIDJI – In the fifth minute of Tuesday night’s high school girls soccer game between Bemidji and Moorhead, Izzy Renn's eyes lit up when she saw her teammate Stella Schoonover with the ball.

Up 1-0, Renn had an open field in front of her. All she needed was a pass from Schoonover and she was on a breakaway.

“When I saw the open space and I saw Stella had the ball, I was like, ‘This is my chance,’” Renn said. “She made the pass and I was scared that I was going to mess it up.”

Renn took the pass in stride and was all alone with Spuds goalkeeper Kinze Johnson. She beat her in the left corner for the goal, extending the Lumberjacks’ lead 2-0.

And she wasn’t even done in the first half.
