LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Republican Louisville Metro Council members want to track certain decisions local judges are making in the city's criminal cases.

Critics of the Jefferson County judicial system say it routinely lets violent offenders out too easily.

Councilman Anthony Piagentini (R-19), alongside his Republican colleagues on Tuesday, proposed the creation of a "judicial scorecard" that through a third party would track rates of judge’s rulings like early release from jail and shock probation.

He says it's for citizens to better understand the role judges play in keep violent offenders off the streets.
