ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A woman who was recently homeless has received a new home in Atlanta with the help of local organizations.

LaRosa Solo lived on the streets for more than a year with her adult son.

“I wouldn’t wish that on nobody. Homelessness is an awful thing,” Solo said.

According to Solo, she first became unhoused after her husband’s death, when she could no longer afford to pay her rent.

But she said God blessed her with the help of organizations like Partners for Home, a group that works to provide housing for those in need throughout Atlanta.

“I’m literally sitting in my own home, I’m not sitting outside like when you first interviewed me,” Solo said. “God is good. This is my home.”
