Since Bruce Willis ’ diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), his wife, Emma Heming Willis , has candidly shared her experience as a caregiver and their lives together, from his health to how she grapples with their evolving relationship.
“Bruce has a variant of frontotemporal dementia called PPA, which is primary progressive aphasia, which that disease, over time, strips away your language,” Heming Willis, 47, tells TODAY.com. “For us, now, our communication is different, but our connection is very much intact.”
Since Willis’ diagnosis, Heming Willis has worked with experts to understand how to best support him, herself and their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.
