CHICAGO (WGN) - A man was shot and killed Tuesday night in the city's Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Chicago police said the incident happened just before 8 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Kimbark Avenue.

A 31-year-old man was on the sidewalk when an unknown suspect inside a white vehicle drove up and fired multiple shots at him. The man was hit in the head and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition before dying from his injuries, according to investigators.

Police said the suspect vehicle drove off after the shooting, heading northbound from the scene.

No arrests have been made and Area One Detectives are investigating.
