(KBTX) - The red-hot Aggie volleyball team was cooled off Tuesday night in Dallas in a top-ten showdown.

No. 8 Texas A&M (5-1) fell to No. 10 SMU (6-0) 25-20, 25-14, 25-19 at Moody Coliseum for the Aggies’ first loss of the season.

Here is a brief game rundown.

Why did A&M lose? The Aggies never got a consistent attack going, with Kyndall Stowers leading the way with 7 kills, Logan Lednicky with 6, and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla with 5. This was the first time this season that no Aggie recorded double-digit kill numbers. They also had a season-low .070 hit percentage (compared to season-best .415 the previous match vs. Utah State).

Who stood out? For the Mustangs, Jadyn Livings led the way with 14 kills. Natalia Newsome added 8 kills with 3 blocks.
