SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Some parents in the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) are outraged with alleged comments made by board member and State Senator Carine Werner , calling her a bully.
The incident happened on August 5 during a board meeting that Werner attended virtually.
While a district employee was talking, Werner’s hot mic picked up her audio. It’s hard to make out, but parents said they know what she said.
“This is what I have to listen to? And then she referred to the district employee as ‘morbidly obese’ and then called her ‘chubs,’” said Shea Najaski, an SUSD parent.
Sarah Kuckbecker, another SUSD parent, said, “I’m dismayed. I feel that it’s completely unacceptable that an elected official thinks they can talk like that.”
