UPDATE: Police have announced the man they are seeking in the case is named Jamel McGriff. They advise that he is considered armed and dangerous and say anyone who sees him should not approach him but should call 911 immediately.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Firefighters responding to a residential blaze in Bellerose Monday afternoon found an elderly couple dead in the basement of 87-86 254 St. with the man discovered tied to a pole.

Police have not identified the couple, but have released a video of a suspect believed to have entered the house and set the fire.
