ATLANTA — Atlanta Police said they are investigating a deadly shooting after a 17-year-old was found with multiple gunshot wounds late Tuesday night.

Officers arrived at Moury Avenue southwest at around 11:31 p.m. and found the teen boy with the injuries. Officers, along with Grady EMS, administered aid. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said, but later passed away.

Police stayed on scene for hours gathering evidence, and recovered numerous shell casings.

However, officers have not made any arrests, nor have they determined a motive for the shooting.

The teen was identified as Kevelle Byrd.

People who live at the Villages at Carver apartments tell 11Alive News the teen lived there. They said he was shot near the entrance to his apartment.
