Though he calls artificial intelligence (AI) "a brilliant tool," Aston Martin's chief creative officer and executive vice president, Marek Reichman, can't help but passionately defend the use of humans in the vehicle design process.

"Automation has existed for thousands of years. We continue to automate. Otherwise, we'd be washing our clothes in the river on the rock; we don't need to anymore. We have a washing machine; just put it in, press a button, and it does it for you. I have to use AI in the same way," Reichman told Newsweek.

"What are the mundane things that I don't want that team of highly creative people doing that AI [can do] or [using] AI can challenge what they've done," he continued, explaining possible use cases for AI within the Aston Martin design studio.
