LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is in the hospital after a shooting in Old Louisville on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Louisville police said around 9:41 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of South Floyd Street. There, they found a man who’d been shot in the face. He was taken to UofL Hopsital, where he is expected to survive.

Police said the shooting was domestic in nature.

LMPD has arrested 34-year-old John Gorman in connection to the shooting and have recovered the weapon. According to the arrest report, Gorman said he was playing with a gun that he thought was unloaded and pointed it at the other man’s face when it went off. He also told police he is a felon out of Texas and Kentucky.

Gorman is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and domestic violence.
