UNC football is back home in Week 3 of the 2025 season to host Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels (1-1) and Spiders (1-1) kick off at 3:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised on the ACC Network . It'll be UNC's first time facing an FCS opponent under head coach Bill Belichick , who is coming off his first victory in college football.
UNC and Richmond haven't played since 1978, but the Tar Heels have a 12-2 record in the series. The Spiders won that game in 1978 and the program's most recent win against an ACC opponent came against Virginia Tech in 2016. UNC hasn't lost to an FCS opponent since a 28-3 defeat to Furman at Kenan Stadium in 1999.
