BEDFORD — A Shelbyville man was arrested on Friday, September 5, after allegedly resisting arrest and fleeing from police while intoxicated. Dustin Dakota Goodwin, 27, faces charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest by force, and resisting arrest by fleeing.

According to a probable cause affidavit from the Bedford Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of 22nd and I Streets regarding an intoxicated man who had left a Transitions facility and was lying in a yard. The man, later identified as Goodwin, was described as being violent.

Captain Dakoda Emmons of the Bedford Police Department arrived on the scene and found Goodwin lying in a yard, appearing lifeless. When approached, Goodwin reportedly got up, stumbled, and fled from the officer. After a brief foot cha
