Indiana consumer agency recommends denial of AES rate increase

AES ratepayers frustrated with already high electric prices and a request by the utility to raise those bills by more than $20 a month just gained a key ally: Indiana's utility consumer office.

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) recommended that the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) deny a request by AES to hike base rates, according to a Sept. 10 filing shared with IndyStar.
