Starting next week, Preston residents may experience a temporary reduction in water pressure, some discoloured water and short-term water loss.

The city will begin water main cleaning in the Preston area from Sept. 15 through to mid-October.

As part of the city’s Water Main Cleaning Program, water mains are cleaned regularly to remove accumulated material and maintain drinking water quality.

“ The program aims to optimize water quality, reducing the likelihood of discoloured water entering your home,” the city said in a press release.

“If you live in the Preston area, watch for a door hanger notice that will be placed on your door a few days before work begins on your street.”
