The Weyburn Police Service attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision last Thursday, when a driver failed to stop at the red light at the intersection of First Avenue and Government Road.

Deputy Chief Shane St. John says the incident was similar to an accident the week prior.

“A person went through a red light, striking another vehicle. Both vehicles again needed to be towed, and there were no injuries, but it was almost identical to the one we had last week.”

St. John says the similar incidents are simply coincidental, with no other links between the two accidents. The investigations were also dissimilar in investigation, as the first utilized dash cam footage, while Thursday’s matter saw the driver simply take accountability.
