JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) shared on Wednesday that the seasonal ranger involved in the August stabbing “hoax” was fired.
CPW said Callum Heskett, 26, was fired from Staunton State Park on Aug. 22.
The announcement comes several weeks after law enforcement said a stabbing investigation at Staunton State Park that prompted a multi-agency response was found to be “an elaborate hoax.”
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Hesket radioed for help around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, claiming he’d been stabbed.
Heskett was airlifted to the hospital while the search for the suspect he described continued for several hours.
