SAGINAW, MI — A trial is underway for a Flint man accused of killing a clerk at a Saginaw party store, then setting the body on fire in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Jurors were seated Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the trial of 42-year-old Cetrice L. Bowens before Saginaw County Circuit Judge Andre R. Borrello. Bowens faces nine charges stemming from the April 2024 homicide of Tyrone “Orange” Cannady — open murder, first-degree arson, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, and four counts of second-offense felony firearm.
