BETHPAGE, N.Y. (PIX11) — It's not every day you see the owner of a diner look to the Federal Aviation Administration for assistance.

For this cause, it's worth it. On Wednesday at 7 p.m., above the Bethpage staple Embassy Diner, owner Gus Tsiorvas will host a light show of 350 high-flying drones to honor first responders and victims of 9/11.

"We should never forget," Tsiorvas said in a social media video promoting the one-of-a-kind tribute.

The owner had to get permission from the FAA to temporarily shut down the airspace above the Hempstead Turnpike diner, which has been around for over 60 years, due to the high volume of drones needed to pull off such a powerful spectacle.

"It's our way of honoring the day, our country and the people who make it strong," Tsiorvas said.
