EVERGREEN, Colo. (KKTV) - Emergency responders are on scene at Evergreen High School, in Jefferson County, related to reports of an “active assailant” in the area of the school Wednesday afternoon.

According to Jefferson County 911 Communications, the area of the school, which is on Buffalo Park Road in Evergreen, was still an active scene as of 12:40 p.m., according to a social media post made at that time.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, at least two students were shot and wounded at the high school.

Emergency services officials have asked parents to not head directly to the school. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said reunification between parents and students will occur at Burgen Meadow Elementary, at 1928 South Hiwon Drive.
