EVERGREEN, Colo. (KKTV) - Deputies have identified the suspect in the Evergreen High School shooting as 16-year-old Desmond Holly.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), the two students who were injured during the shooting are still in the hospital in critical condition as of late Thursday morning.

Emergency responders were on scene at the Colorado high school Wednesday afternoon after reports of an “active assailant” in the area.

JCSO originally said at least three students were shot and wounded at the high school. The sheriff’s office later said that Holly was one of those three students.

Wednesday night, deputies said the suspect responsible for the shooting had died from self-inflicted injuries.
