Health officials in West Michigan have issued an advisory telling residents not to eat fish from four local bodies of water.

The warning from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) comes after high levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) were found in fish caught in the area.

The advisory from Wednesday, Sept. 10, applied to fish taken from the following water bodies:

Hopewell Indian Mounds Pond in Wyoming

Luvis Lake in Grandville

Porter Lake in Grandville

Spelman Lake at the Wyoming Clean Water Plant
