Jefferson County law enforcement in Colorado confirmed that at least two students were shot at Evergreen High School on Wednesday.

In a post on X, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said that the students "have been shot and are enroute to the hospital."

A media staging event was set up at the Evergreen Lakehouse. Parents were directed to Burgen Meadow Elementary to pick up their children.

The county sent out an "urgent lookout alert" on Wednesday afternoon to report an "active shooter" at the school
