HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Insurance Department has rejected and modified every health insurance rate increase request it received for 2026.
Department officials reported Wednesday that the cuts will save $125 million for customers, as open enrollment begins Nov. 1.
This comes as the department issued its rate decisions for 2026 fully insured individual and small group health insurance plans.

“All of us – regulators, consumers and industry – have faced unprecedented uncertainty this year due to the federal government’s pending changes to health care coverage. But our commitment to protect consumers never wavers,” Mais said.
