Conservative speaker Charlie Kirk was shot during a Q&A

Conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon while hosting a Q&A event at Utah Valley University (UVU). The shooting sent the crowd into a panic, and witnesses reported a chaotic scene as they fled for safety.

The news of his death was confirmed by President Donald J. Trump in a post on Truth Social.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Trump wrote. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
