HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Some voters are wondering how they want to vote on a proposed sales tax to expand transit in Mecklenburg County. The referendum on the ballot this November would put funds toward improving roads and the Red Line Commuter Rail, if approved.
This November, voters will get a chance to decide if the Red Line should be added as part of the Mecklenburg County transit sales tax.
The Red Line would connect Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, and Mooresville to downtown Charlotte.
We went to North Mecklenburg Park to ask voters.
“I’ve been on the light rail, and I’ve noticed security-wise wise they don’t really check if people have tickets or anything like that. So just making sure that all safety precautions are taken,” Huntersville resident Kelsea Pope sa
