CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Calls for reform continue in the wake of the deadly stabbing on the Charlotte Area Transit System light rail.
As federal and local leaders weigh in on how to make our public transportation safer, President Trump is calling for the death penalty for the suspect in the stabbing.
That suspect, Decarlos Brown, is in jail under no bond and facing a federal and a state charge in the killing.
Queen City News Anchor Robin Kanady spoke one-on-one with District Attorney Spencer Merriweather, whose office will be prosecuting Brown in the state murder case.
Merriweather cannot speak specifically about pending cases, but he answered questions generally about the law and the court system.
