JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) - The Jefferson County Humane Society has seen a drastic increase in humane cases over the last year and they’re seeing higher costs for veterinary care.
A lot of the animals they treat are in extremely poor health and some even need 24/7 care to survive.
7News was at the shelter today where organizers are planning a fundraiser to help raise money for these critical services.
From major surgeries like amputations and tumor removal to general care and necessities, the Jefferson County Humane Society gives every animal that comes into their care a fighting chance.
But an increase in severe medical cases and skyrocketing treatment costs has put a dent in their funding for these services.
To continue their mission, they are hosting their first ever “Rescue th
