MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Verona Senior Center has welcomed a new activity for its residents.

The center announced Monday that it purchased a trishaw bike, a three-wheeled bike meant to carry two passengers and a “pilot”, or person who pedals the bike.

The fundraising effort for the bike was started by Verona resident Dean Gorrell in February of 2024. Thanks to Gorrell and many other donors, over $15,000 was raised, and the center was able to purchase the bike.

“I am so very grateful to the business owners and individuals who contributed to this impactful effort,” said Gorrell. “I look forward to seeing the smiles on passengers’ faces as they take their first rides.”
