STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents at a free shredding event Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon in Ocean Breeze.

District Attorney Michael E. McMahon, state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and the Staten Island Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority are organizing the event to help protect residents from identity theft and financial fraud.

The event will take place in Parking Lot 6, located at the intersection of Capodanno Boulevard and Seaview Avenue. Residents are encouraged to bring documents containing personal information for secure disposal.
