GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Members of the House met today with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) at Greenville Technical College to discuss how to modernize state infrastructure.
“We all drive on the roads," said Kambrell Garvin, House Representative for South Carolina's District Seven. "We wanna make sure our roads work for everybody.”
As South Carolina grows fast, our infrastructure feels the impact.
"We are exploding at the seams," Garvin said. "So we have to address ways to improve road quality as well as make our roads safer.”
One of the ways South Carolina has aimed to improve roads is the penny sales tax, which did not pass in Greenville County. However, in the Low County, House Representative for District 114 Gary Brewer says it’s funding like that,
