Gov. Tim Walz has given two strong signals this week that he will seek a third term next year.

Though the governor still plans to make an official announcement in the coming days, he indicated Wednesday that it's safe to assume he's running for reelection. During a morning event at an Inver Grove Heights elementary school, Walz said he's "not being coy" about his decision, but recent events have given him pause.

"I think life comes at you, and you play the cards you’re dealt," he said. "It’s been a tough summer, as we've thought about it."
