As of September 2, 2025, there have been 1,431 confirmed measles cases in the U.S., including three deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Children in Connecticut are among the most well-protected in the country. The latest data from the CDC shows 98.2% of kindergarteners in Connecticut were up-to-date on the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine in 2024. The vaccine requires two doses by age six.

The target herd immunity rate for measles is 95%.
